The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPCL) Limited has disclosed a substantial profit-after-tax of N5.76 trillion for the 2025 financial year, highlighting a strong performance in its operations.

This impressive bottom-line figure came alongside total revenue of N60.51 trillion generated throughout the year, as detailed in the company’s Monthly Report Summary released for December 2025 on Thursday obtained by Persecondnews.

NNPC emphasized that it fulfilled significant obligations by making statutory payments amounting to N14.7 trillion to various government agencies and partners during the period.

On the production front, the country achieved an average crude oil and condensate output of 1.62 million barrels per day across 2025, reflecting overall efforts to sustain hydrocarbon extraction levels.

However, December saw a notable decline in production, with average crude and condensate volumes dropping by 3.75 percent to 1.54 million barrels per day from 1.6 million barrels per day in November.

The company attributed this December shortfall to scheduled maintenance activities at facilities including Stardeep-Agbami and Renaissance-Estuary area (EA), along with several unplanned outages at production sites.

Also for the month, NNPC reported a profit after tax of N351 billion in December, marking a 30.08 percent decrease compared to the N502 billion achieved in the previous month.

Despite the dip in monthly profit, revenue for December rose by 10.8 percent to N4.82 trillion, up from N4.35 trillion recorded in November.

Natural gas production also experienced a downturn, falling to 6.19 million standard cubic feet per day in December from 6.96 million standard cubic feet per day the month before.

In terms of infrastructure development, NNPC confirmed the timely completion of mainline welding works on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project as planned.

The firm indicated that intensified work is ongoing to finalize the intermediate pigging station and block valve stations for the AKK pipeline.

Additionally, NNPC reported successful completion of all preliminary activities and the start of pilot hole drilling on the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) gas pipeline.

The company stated that the OB3 project remains on track for completion, according to its established schedule.
