The Nigeria Police Force has announced a further suspension of the Tinted Glass Permit policy enforcement across the states.

While the initiative was intended to bolster internal security starting today, the NPF was served with a court injunction effectively blocking the rollout.

According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the national spokesman, the Force will comply with the judicial directive pending the determination of the legal challenge currently before the court.

“In response, the Nigeria Police Force entered an appearance in the matter, filed preliminary objections, and applied for the vacation of the interim order. The court has adjourned the case to January 20, 2026, for further proceedings.

“In strict compliance with the subsisting court order and in line with constitutional provisions, the Nigeria Police Force has placed the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit policy on hold nationwide until the court reaches a decision.

“Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to the rule of law while continuing to fulfill its core mandate of protecting lives and property,” he said.

The IGP reaffirmed the police’s commitment to tackling security threats through transparent, intelligence-driven operations.

Following the court’s ruling, the Force will issue updated instructions to the public to ensure everyone stays informed while maintaining national security.
