Peter Okoye, one-half of the defunct music duo Psquare, has broken his silence on the long-running rift with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, declaring that the group’s much-publicised reunion in 2021 was never genuine.

In a lengthy video titled “Laying the Truth on the Truth,” obtained by Per Second News, Peter made a series of startling revelations about the collapse of the iconic group, accusing Paul of repeatedly trying to bring him down while insisting he had never retaliated in the same manner.

According to Peter, he has deliberately kept silent over the years despite what he described as repeated attempts by his brother to tarnish his image in public.

“I have never granted any interview to talk down on my brother. If anybody has any video where I sat down to disparage Paul, bring it out,” he said.

The singer challenged critics and fans alike to produce evidence that he had ever publicly attacked his twin, maintaining that his silence had often been mistaken for weakness.

Peter also dismissed claims that Psquare’s November 2021 reunion was built on genuine reconciliation, describing it instead as a reunion that lacked sincerity from the very beginning.

Recounting what led to the reunion, he alleged that Paul unexpectedly visited his home one morning while he was away on tour.

“One early morning, while I was on tour, my PA sent me a message that Paul came to my house. He came to apologise to my wife. He said he was tired of the fight and wanted Psquare back,” Peter revealed.

Despite the apology, Peter said he was never enthusiastic about bringing Psquare back together, explaining that his priority was restoring their relationship as brothers rather than reviving the music group.

“I wasn’t cool with bringing Psquare back. I preferred that we become brothers again first. I was okay with us being brothers, not necessarily Psquare,” he stated.

Peter further alleged that while Paul desperately wanted the group to reunite, he remained convinced that rebuilding their family bond was more important than returning to the stage as a duo.

The music star also declared that he was done playing the role of the “nice person,” claiming his brother had continued to undermine him despite his efforts to maintain peace.

“I’m done being the nice person while my twin brother keeps dragging me down,” Peter said.

He concluded by revealing that the video was only the first part of his side of the story, tagging it “Phase 1” and promising that a second instalment containing more revelations would be released on Friday.
