The highly anticipated Big Brother Naija Season 11 premiered on Sunday, hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as the first group of contestants entered the house to compete for ₦160 million.

Biggie delivered an immediate shocker shortly after their arrival, announcing a major format shift that pits male and female teams against each other for selected challenges, reports Persecondnews.

Biggie told the contestants: “The house would be split into two groups, the ladies and the guys, with key house challenges to be contested along those lines.”

Under the new arrangement, wager tasks, arena games and other major competitions will now be contested between the two teams, with housemates expected to work together to secure victories and earn rewards.

The twist is expected to significantly alter the dynamics of the house as contestants juggle team loyalty with individual strategies in their quest for the grand prize.

The new format is also likely to spark fresh rivalries and alliances, with viewers keen to see whether gender solidarity or personal ambition will shape the competition.

Following the launch, the first set of housemates took part in brief interviews before making their way into Biggie’s house, where the battle for supremacy has officially begun.

With the introduction of the gender-based team challenge, fans are expected to witness a different dimension of gameplay as the season unfolds.
