Lagos Deputy Police Commissioner Dies

Mr. Khan Salihu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration for the Lagos State Police Command, has passed away.
While the exact cause of death remains unknown, command sources revealed that Salihu had complained of fatigue after returning from the mosque on Sunday, subsequently requesting time off to rest at home.
However, his condition worsened upon reaching his residence, prompting an emergency trip to the hospital where he was certified dead.
The State Police Command confirmed the tragic incident in a statement released on Monday, June 15, 2026, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi.
“The Command mourns the loss of a highly dedicated, disciplined, and committed senior police officer who served the Nigeria Police Force with exceptional professionalism, loyalty, and integrity.
“Throughout his distinguished career, DCP Khan Salihu exemplified diligence, exemplary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to duty.
“His wealth of experience, administrative acumen, and invaluable contributions greatly enhanced the effective management and operational efficiency of the Lagos State Police Command.
“News of his demise came as a profound shock and a painful loss to the officers and men of the Command.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, on behalf of the officers and men of the Command, extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.”
The Command prayed that Almighty God grants his family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grant the departed officer eternal rest.
