Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), the APC governorship candidate for Ogun State, has officially unveiled Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun as his running mate for the 2027 election.

Speaking at the APC Secretariat in Abeokuta on Sunday, Adeola described her as a disciplined and experienced professional who will partner with him to build on Governor Dapo Abiodun’s achievements.

The event drew prominent party stakeholders, including Governor Abiodun, State Chairman Chief Yemisi Sanusi, Senator Gbenga Kaka, and Senator Akin Odunsi.

Adeola noted that picking Adegunwa-Balogun—who hails from Ososa in Ogun East and is the daughter of prominent industrialist Alhaji Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa—followed extensive consultations across the state.

This announcement comes just two months after Adeola was confirmed as the party’s consensus governorship candidate following a successful direct primary held across all 236 wards in the state.

At the occasion, Abiodun formally moved for Mrs. Adegunwa-Balogun’s adoption, which was unanimously approved by party members via a voice vote.

In her acceptance remarks, she expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Gov. Abiodun, Senator Adeola, and the party’s leadership for their confidence in her to join the gubernatorial ticket.
