Liverpool have officially parted ways with head coach Arne Slot following a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.
The club confirmed on May 30, 2026, that Slot left his position with immediate effect after an end-of-season review. Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League, ended the season without a trophy, and finished 25 points behind the champions.
Attention has now turned to the search for a new manager, with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola emerging as the leading candidate for the role.
Iraola, who guided Bournemouth to a historic sixth-place finish and Europa League qualification, is reportedly the preferred choice of Liverpool’s hierarchy.
Liverpool have thanked Slot for his service, with the Dutchman departing Anfield having delivered a Premier League title during his two-year spell in charge.
