The All Progressives Congress (APC) has adjusted its primary schedule ahead of the 2027 General Elections, extending the deadlines for the purchase and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.
In a statement released Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed that the revised timeline would also impact the screening of candidates.
This shift aims to provide more breathing room for prospective candidates to finalize their digital registration and documentation.
According to the party, the sale of forms has been extended to midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, while the submission of completed forms will now close at midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
The screening of aspirants will take place from Friday, May 8, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026, while the publication of screened aspirants is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Persecondnews recalls that the APC had pegged its presidential nomination form at N100 million, while the governorship form costs N50 million.
Aspirants for the House of Assembly are to pay N6 million, House of Representatives aspirants N10 million, and Senate hopefuls N20 million.
The APC had last Tuesday commenced the sale of nomination and Expression of Interest forms for various elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise was initially scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 25 and end on Saturday, May 2, 2026, but started three days later than scheduled.
Meanwhile, Morka has also called on party stakeholders, supporters, and members both old and new to participate in the ongoing party membership electronic registration exercise across Delta State, other states of the federation, and the Federal Capital Territory.
He explained that the exercise is being conducted in all wards nationwide, with existing members expected to validate their membership, while new and intending members are encouraged to register and join the party’s progressive family.
Morka said the e-registration is aimed at digitising the party’s membership register, ensuring integrity of records, improving access to membership data for planning and decision-making, promoting internal democracy, and strengthening democratic innovation within the party.
He said registrants must be 18 years and above and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
