Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has broken her silence following her release from detention, assuring fans that she will address the matter personally.
Okorie was first arrested by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja at her Lagos residence over allegations involving her colleague,
Mercy Johnson, as reported on January 28th. She was remanded at Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State before being released.
Confusion arose when reports suggested she had been rearrested by the FCT Police Command on February 3rd over a petition filed against her.
Actress Doris Ogala had claimed that the temporary arrest was linked to unpaid legal fees to an unnamed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) who helped secure her bail.
However, Angela Okorie denied these claims, stating that she was not rearrested.
On Tuesday evening, the police granted her bail, and she was expected to appear at the FCT Police Headquarters on February 4th.
Taking to her Instagram story, Okorie thanked her fans and loved ones for their support and prayers during the ordeal. She promised to give a detailed statement soon, writing:
“I will speak to my fans and families tomorrow!! God bless each and every one of you who showed me love. You all are amazing. Thank you.”
Her message has sparked reactions across social media, with many fans praising her resilience and patience amid the stressful and highly publicized legal battle.
Observers have also urged caution in reporting unverified claims, emphasizing the need to allow Okorie to clarify the situation herself.
