As part of an ongoing push to enhance security, the new FCT Police Commissioner, Miller Dantawaye, is establishing collaboration with sister security agencies in the nation’s capital.

On Wednesday, October 22, he began a familiarization tour with courtesy visits to key Abuja security heads, including the Commander Guards Brigade, Commander Naval Base Abuja, Commander 053 NAF Camp, and the Commandant NSCDC FCT Command.

Command spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed on Thursday, October 23, in a statement given to Persecondnews that the goal is to deepen inter-agency collaboration, intelligence sharing, and joint operational strategies to strengthen the FCT’s security.

The push for synergy is driven by the recent surge in insecurity within the FCT, which tragically resulted in the deaths of Arise TV anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu, security guard Barnabas Danlami, and veterinary doctor Ifeanyi Ogbu.

Persecondnews notes this critical security challenge necessitates the new collaborative approach.

The statement reads: “CP Dantawaye reiterated that effective policing and national security thrive on unity of purpose among all security stakeholders.

“He commended the continuous cooperation between the agencies and emphasized the need for sustained synergy in tackling emerging threats across the Territory.

“Each of the commanders expressed strong commitment to supporting the Police and sustaining joint efforts in maintaining peace and stability within the nation’s capital.

“The visits ended with renewed pledges of collaboration and mutual respect among the security formations.”
