After years away from Nollywood to focus on raising a family, actress Ivie Okujaye is making an emotional comeback and she is not hiding how tough the journey has been.
In a heartfelt revelation shared on Instagram, the Alero’s “Symphony and Make a Move star” opened up about the painful silence she met when she tried reconnecting with old colleagues and producers.
“It was a very difficult time,” she said.
“I reached out to people I used to work with, but they wouldn’t pick up my calls or even call back. It felt like I had been forgotten. I kept wondering if I still had a place in the industry.”
For the actress once called “Little Genevieve” because of her striking resemblance and fiery screen presence, the experience was humbling.
But instead of letting the rejection define her, she chose to wait, grow, and keep her faith alive.
That patience is finally paying off. Ivie has just landed a lead role in a new movie titled Osamede, marking her grand return to the big screen.
The film, already creating buzz, features her in a deeply emotional role that reminds fans of the talent that made her a household name.
Fans and colleagues have since flooded her page with support, celebrating her honesty and resilience.
Many praised her for speaking out about a reality often hidden in the entertainment world — how easily one can be forgotten after stepping away.
Through tears, Ivie admits the journey back hasn’t been easy but says she’s grateful to be doing what she loves again.
“I’m just thankful,” she said.
“This comeback means more than words can express.
