Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) returned to the Senate on Tuesday, October 7, at 11:42 a.m., following the completion of her six-month suspension.

The lawmaker entered the chambers, took her seat, and exchanged greetings with several colleagues, reports Persecondnews.

She was accompanied to the Senate by numerous activists, including Aisha Yesufu of the “Bring Back Our Girls” movement, though some of her supporters were reportedly denied access to the Senate gallery.

Persecondnews recalls that on September 23, the Senate Wing office was unsealed by the Sergeant at Arms of the National Assembly, along with combined personnel of security organizations.

Upon gaining access to her office, Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan remained resolute, insisting that she had no apology to tender.

The Senator was slammed with a six-month suspension by the Senate in March, which also barred her from participating in all activities of the 10th Senate due to alleged misconduct stemming from her protest against Akpabio’s reassignment of her seat on February 20, 2025.
