Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has broken his silence on rumours suggestive of reconciling with his estranged wife, Mabel Makun.
The entertainer described the stories as false and manipulative, cautioning the public against being misled.
Taking to his Instagram page, AY dismissed the reports as “false, incessant, and insensitive,” noting that the publications are driven by a desperate bid for traffic and online engagement.
According to him, such rumours are deliberately crafted to paint a misleading narrative about his private life.
He expressed frustration at the repeated attempts to drag his personal matters into the spotlight, stressing that he had never made or authorised any statement suggesting regret or reconciliation.
AY insisted that if he ever wished to speak on issues relating to his private life, he has the platform and credibility to do so directly without hiding behind faceless blogs.
“My attention has been drawn to a series of false, incessant, and insensitive social media posts suggesting that I am in a state of regret seeking reconciliation in my past relationship,” AY stated.
He described these publications as manipulative and intentionally designed to mislead, adding “these rumours are a complete misrepresentation of reality.”
“For clarity, I have never authorized or made any such statements,” he declared, making it clear that his silence should not be mistaken for endorsement of fabricated claims.
He also reminded his fans and the wider public that gossip platforms thrive on sensationalism, warning them to be cautious of narratives pushed for mere engagement.
AY maintained that he would no longer sit back and watch damaging content about his private life gain traction unchallenged.
Issuing what he described as his “final warning,” the actor announced that he is prepared to take legal measures against individuals or platforms that persist in publishing or promoting such defamatory stories.
“This serves as a final warning: all such false narratives should be disregarded by the public. Moving forward, the appropriate legal measures will be instituted against individuals, blogs, or platforms that continue to publish, promote, or circulate these defamatory stories,” AY declared firmly.
AY said he had endured enough of the falsehoods surrounding his name, saying “Enough of the lies.”
