The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday observed a minute silence in honour of the late Chief Audu Ogbeh, a former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development who served under the Buhari administration from 2015 to 2019.
The Council meeting held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa and chaired by President Bola Tinubu, paid tribute to Ogbeh’s contributions to the nation’s development.
Persecondnews recalls that Ogbeh, a renowned politician and former national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from 2001 to 2004, passed away on August 9, 2025, at the age of 78.
His family had announced his death in a statement, describing him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by integrity and dedication to the nation.
“He departed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service, and dedication to our nation and community. We are comforted by the many lives he touched and the example he set,” the family stated.
Ogbeh had a long and distinguished career in public service, serving as Minister under late Presidents Shehu Shagari and Muhammadu Buhari.
