Just in: Ex-Sokoto Gov. Tambuwal Released After EFCC Investigation

After 24 hours in custody, the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released the former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal.

Persecondnews gathered that the former Speaker of the House of Representatives (2015-2019 has been granted administrative bail.

Tambuwal, a chieftain of the opposition People’s Democratic Party had honoured an invitation by the anti-graft agency at about 11:11am on Monday, August 11 and was subsequently taken into custody.

“He has been granted administrative bail. We have extracted what we need from him, and he will soon leave our headquarters after perfecting his bail conditions,” an EFCC officer said.

EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale has yet to comment on Tambuwal’s release.
