Just in: Plenary on Hold: Senate Adjourns till Sept. 23

The Nigerian Senate on Thursday, July 24, adjourned its plenary sessions until Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

The decision followed the adoption of a motion moved by the Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele.

In his remarks after the motion was carried, Senate President Godswill Akpabio stated that senators are expected to utilize the break period to conduct oversight functions.

He emphasized that each committee would be required to submit a report on its oversight activities to the Senate upon resumption.

Additionally, Akpabio said APC Senators are expected to attend the party’s National Executive Committee meeting at the Villa, commencing at 2 p.m. today.
