Ex-Pres. Buhari for burial in Daura on Monday, July 14

Former President Muhammadu Buhari will be laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, today, July 14.

Buhari’s body is being flown back to Nigeria from London and will be buried according to Islamic rites.

Persecondnews reported that Buhari succumbed to a prolonged illness at a private clinic in London on Sunday at 4.30pm.

His media spokesman, Garba Shehu, had announced his death via X on Sunday.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu, who has declared a seven-day national mourning in honour of his predecessor, has dispatched Vice President Kashim Shettima to London to bring the body back home.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, his former boss in the Nigerian Army, ex-Head of State, Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, and world leaders have expressed their condolences on the passing of Buhari.
