Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has strongly condemned the ongoing bloodletting at Yelewata village in the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, describing it as both tragic and devastating.

In a deeply emotional statement released on Sunday, Adefarasin lamented the horrific, wanton loss of lives on the night of June 13 when attackers reportedly locked families in their homes and set them ablaze.

“There’s a grief that lingers when lives are taken so senselessly,” he said.

Reports indicate that at least 100 people were killed, dozens are still missing, while many survivors remain without access to critical medical care.

“Children woke up to silence. Mothers are still searching for sons… This is not who we are meant to be,” Adefarasin added, calling on national leaders and citizens alike to confront the injustice rather than ignore it.

“A nation that shrugs at such injustice risks being consumed by it. To the people of Benue, your pain matters. Your lives matter. We pray for healing, for restoration, and for deep, true justice — not in mere words, but in palpable action.”

The pastor made a passionate plea to government officials and moral leaders across Nigeria:”This is not the time to look away. When one part of our nation bleeds, the whole must feel it. Enough is enough.”
