Marital infidelity: Jealous police officer hacks wife to death as wife severs his genital

In a shocking and devastating turn of events, a violent altercation between a jealous police officer and his adulterous wife in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, on Tuesday, has resulted in double tragedy.

Police confirmed that the tragic incident occurred in the Ita-Eku area, specifically along Igirigiri Road in Ado Ekiti.

According to reports, the altercation between Prosecutor ASP Leramo Caleb and his wife turned violent, resulting in the wife severing ASP Caleb’s penis.

In retaliation, ASP Caleb allegedly struck his wife with a machete, ultimately leading to her death.

Investigations reveal that the conflict between the couple began months prior, sparked by ASP Caleb’s accusations of infidelity against his wife.

Persecondnews gathered that prior to the incident, the deceased officer had apprehended his wife’s boyfriend, but police intervention led to the boyfriend’s release, with authorities advising Caleb to address his marital problems through reconciliation.

A friend of the officer, who pleaded anonymity, said the marriage had not been the same after the incident, degenerating into a series of unending problems.

The friend disclosed that trouble reached a boiling point on Tuesday when Caleb’s wife allegedly drugged his food, weakening him and creating an opportunity for her to mutilate his genitals.

With his last ounce of strength, Caleb responded by striking his wife with a machete, causing severe injuries.

According to him, ASP Caleb succumbed to his injuries, dying in a pool of his own blood, while his wife was rushed to Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti(ABUAD) Teaching Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The couple left behind four children.

The source said: “He was one of the police prosecutors who were always focused on their duties.

“He was such a brave and courageous man that I love attending court proceedings where he was the prosecutor until there was a restructuring within police force that led to his transfer to Oye-Ekiti.

“Few months ago, I met him again and we talked, but not about his family affairs. However, through another his very close friend who is also a prosecutor, I learned that Officer Caleb had issue of infidelity with his wife and as a police officer, he started monitoring his wife until she was caught red-handed.

“This angered him and led to the arrest of his wife’s concubine, but at the police station, Caleb was told to work on his wife instead of arresting her manfriend.

“Both went home, but the marriage was not the same since then. It had been one issue after the other since the arrest was made early January this year.

“However, it was further learnt yesterday that the wife might have put drug inside Caleb’s food which weakened him that gave his wife chance to remove his manhood.

“Like Samson’s last strength, Caleb later received the last courage and power to retaliate.

“He died in the pool of his blood over the injury while his wife was rushed to ABUAD, there she was confirmed dead and both were deposited in the mortuary.”

Persecondnews recalls a similar tragic incident that occurred on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in Eziezekwe village, Abagana in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

On the fateful day, a housewife, Mrs. Chioma Nwaka, lost her life after being set on fire by her husband, Obiozor Nwaka, who allegedly suspected her of infidelity.

The tragic incidents have strengthened the growing call for peaceful conflict resolution in marriages, emphasizing the importance of couples considering divorce as a safer alternative to violent confrontations when faced with life-threatening situations.
