US threatens sanctions against allies aiding ICC’s arrest of Netanyahu – Sen. Graham

762

United States Senator Lindsey Graham has threatened to impose sanctions on allied nations, including Canada, Britain, Germany, and France, if they enforce International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.

The ICC warrants were issued in connection with alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the Gaza Strip.

“To any ally, Canada, Britain, Germany, and France, if you try to help the ICC, we’re going to sanction you,” Graham told Fox News in an interview late Friday.

“If you are going to help the ICC as a nation and force the arrest warrant against Bibi and Gallant, the former defence minister, I will put sanctions on you as a nation,” he said.

“You’re gonna have to pick the rogue ICC versus America,” he added.

Israel’s military offensive on Gaza, launched after a cross-border attack by Hamas in October, has resulted in over 44,000 deaths, mostly women and children, and left more than 104,000 injured.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has ignited widespread international condemnation, with Israel now facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its actions in the region.

Also, according to Lebanese health authorities, Israel’s airstrikes in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah, have had a devastating impact, resulting in over 3,600 deaths, 15,300 injuries, and the displacement of more than a million people since October last year.
