Mohamed Salah May Leave Liverpool Over Lack of Contract Offer

354

Liverpool FC’s star player, Mohamed Salah, has dropped a bombshell by revealing that he may leave the club at the end of the season due to a lack of contract offer from the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG).

The Egyptian winger, who has been instrumental in Liverpool’s success in recent years, expressed his disappointment and frustration at not receiving a contract extension offer despite being in the final year of his current deal.

Salah’s comments have sent shockwaves among Liverpool fans, who are already reeling from the team’s inconsistent performances this season.

The 32-year-old winger has been in outstanding form, scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances across all competitions, but his future at Anfield remains uncertain.

Speaking after Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday, Salah said: “We are almost in December, and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in.”

He added: “You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end, it is not in my hands. As I said, it is December, and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.”

Salah’s revelation has sparked widespread criticism of FSG, with many fans taking to social media to vent their frustration.

One supporter slammed the club, stating, “We’re in the position where Mo Salah, arguably our greatest ever player and the best in the world right now, is out of contract in seven months and is having to speak to the media about how disappointed he is. If he doesn’t extend, it will be completely unforgivable.”

Another fan said: “If we don’t give Mohamed Salah what he wants, then we have to do everything possible to boycott the owners and drive them out. This is the biggest mistake FSG can ever make.”

Many fans are calling for FSG to sell the club to new owners, with one post adding, “Run it. FSGOut. Never back the managers when they need it most, never want to keep the best of the best players, and always come up with an excuse for the nonsense they apply to this club. Embarrassing, enough is enough. Liverpool FC has outgrown FSG; get out.”

The situation has raised concerns that Salah may leave Liverpool on a free transfer next summer, with top European clubs likely to be interested in signing him.

One fan noted: “The best player in the league will be able to sign a pre-contract with another team in less than two months from now just because FSG don’t want to spend money.”

Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, has also come under pressure to comment on the situation.

While he has expressed his desire to keep Salah at the club, he has also acknowledged that the decision ultimately lies with the club’s owners.

As the situation continues to unfold, Liverpool fans are holding their breath, hoping that the club will come to its senses and offer Salah a contract extension.

However, with time running out, it remains to be seen whether the Egyptian winger will remain at Anfield beyond the end of the season.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that the club’s owners are facing mounting pressure to resolve the situation, with many fans calling for them to take immediate action.

The newspaper has also suggested that the club may be forced to reconsider its transfer policy in light of Salah’s comments.

In a statement, the Liverpool FC Supporters’ Union expressed its concern over the situation, stating, “We are extremely worried about the situation regarding Mohamed Salah’s contract.

“We urge the club’s owners to take immediate action to resolve this situation and ensure that our star player remains at Anfield.”

As the clock ticks down, Liverpool fans can only hope that their beloved player will remain at the club.

However, with the current uncertainty, it remains to be seen whether Salah will don the red jersey beyond the end of the season.
