The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has issued a strong disclaimer regarding a viral video claiming that the company sold adulterated Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in bottles and jerrycans.

Mr. Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., said in a statement: “The company has conducted spot checks at all its outlets and found the claim to be entirely false.

“The product was not and could not have been bought from any NNPC Retail outlet as the company does not dispense petroleum products into bottles or jerrycans as displayed in the video.

“That NNPC Retail Ltd. does not deal in adulterated products as it adheres to rigorous standards and quality control measures at every stage in its operations to ensure that only high-quality, safe, and reliable petroleum products are available at its stations nationwide.

“NNPC Retail Ltd. prides itself on adhering to rigorous standards and quality control measures at every stage of its operations.”

Soneye noted that the company has continued to ensure that only high-quality, safe, and reliable petroleum products are available at its stations nationwide.

“This commitment to quality is reflected in the company’s regular inspection and calibration of pumps to maintain accuracy and consistency across all stations.

“The NNPC Ltd. urges the public to disregard the spurious claims made in the video and be cautious of selfish and unpatriotic elements spreading false narratives,” he said in the statement emailed to Persecondnews on Thursday.

These elements, according to the company, do not mean well for the country.
