Lobi Stars unveil Finnish tactician, Mika Lönnström, as new head coach

Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi has officially unveiled Mika Lönnström, a seasoned Finnish coach, as its new head coach.

The unveiling ceremony, held on Wednesday in Makurdi, marked a significant step in the club’s efforts to improve its performance.

The club’s chairman, Philip Nongu, welcomed Lönnström, emphasizing that his expertise and passion would undoubtedly elevate the team’s performance.

Nongu said Lönnström’s appointment was part of the club’s repositioning strategy, which aimed to improve its current position and competitiveness.

“We are committed to moving out of the relegation zone, and I am optimistic that we will achieve this with Coach Lönnström’s guidance,” he said.

Lönnström brings a wealth of experience to Lobi Stars, and the club has hailed his appointment as a major boost.

Technical adviser Daniel Amokachi expressed delight at having Lönnström on board, praising his work ethic and commitment to developing young players.

“Mika Lönnström is a man of pedigree, and his expertise will be invaluable to us. We will work tirelessly to identify and nurture promising young talent,” Amokachi said.

In his remarks, Lönnström expressed excitement at joining Lobi Stars and was honoured to be part of the club’s rich history.

He pledged his commitment to driving the team to success, saying, “I am eager to get started and work with the players, technical crew, and management to achieve our goals.”
