It is over! Paul confirms end of relationship with twin brother, Peter

Paul Okoye, one half of the popular music duo Psquare, has officially confirmed the permanent end of his relationship with his twin brother, Peter Okoye.

In an Instagram live session, Paul, also known as Rudeboy, revealed that the separation is final and the era of their partnership is over.

In the session with his fans, Paul expressed his frustrations with their relationship, emphasising that he felt exploited in their musical journey.

He remarked that while he did most of the singing, Peter benefitted equally, despite contributing less.

“The new me, ehn. Those days bamboo dey work, monkey don chop, I no dey do am again. I rather work for myself only. Only me dey sing all the songs,” he shared, hinting at the long-standing imbalance in their partnership.

Paul’s comments alluded to deeper issues within Psquare, including the influence of their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who has been at the centre of their disputes.

It is widely known that the Okoye brothers have faced multiple fallouts over the years, but this latest development appears to be the final chapter in the saga of Psquare.

In a recent interview, Paul recounted a specific incident from December 2023, where he claimed that Peter had him and Jude arrested by a commission.

Paul insisted on his innocence, saying that a thorough investigation cleared him of all charges.

This arrest, according to Paul, marked a turning point in their already strained relationship.

Peter Okoye, however, has refuted Paul’s version of events.

Reacting to the interview, Peter clarified that he never intended to get his twin brother arrested.

He explained that his petition to the commission was directed solely at their elder brother, Jude, after he discovered that Jude had been diverting joint funds into a secret account he shared with his wife.

Peter further expressed his disappointment in Paul’s decision to side with Jude rather than join him in addressing the financial mismanagement.

According to Peter, his brother’s alliance with Jude has only widened the rift between them, and he feels continuously disrespected by Paul, both personally and professionally.

The brothers’ rivalry has affected not only their relationship but also their careers, as Psquare fans have repeatedly witnessed public fallouts between the two.

Peter lamented how, instead of coming together to reclaim their spot as one of Nigeria’s top music acts, Paul chose to humiliate and marginalize him.

Peter also voiced his grievances over how Paul has treated his wife, family, and creative contributions, accusing his twin of dismissing his talent and ideas.

Despite years of successful collaboration, the bond between the brothers now seems irreparable, and the future of Psquare is in doubt.
