Residents of Kaduna and Zaria took to the streets on Thursday to celebrate the Kaduna State Government’s relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed on the communities.

As previously reported by Persecondnews, Gov. Uba Sani imposed a curfew on Kaduna and Zaria on Monday, following the hijacking of the nationwide #endbadgovernance protests by hoodlums.

The disturbing incident escalated into chaos, resulting in the vandalism of both public and private properties, including a commercial bank located on one of Kaduna Polytechnic’s campuses.

Normalcy returned to Kaduna on Thursday as most banks, markets, motor parks, and private and public offices reopened for business.

Motorcyclists and commercial vehicle operators are back in business, transporting passengers between the two cities.

Security agencies, including the military, were not complacent, as they were busy patrolling the streets with so many fixed patrol posts.

Meanwhile, Zaria is once again bustling with business activities following the curfew’s easing.

Sabon Gari Market, a popular hub, has reopened its doors to an influx of eager customers, while commercial activities have also restarted in the bustling PZ and Kofar Doka areas.

Commercial tricyclists have also resumed operation along major routes in the city, while security personnel are visibly present at key locations, maintaining a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
