Despite being in a tough group, Asisat Oshoala boasted that the Super Falcons are mentally prepared for a podium finish at the 2024 Olympic Games ahead of their opening game against Brazil on Thursday.
After a 16-year hiatus from games, coach Randy Waldrum’s side is grouped with Spain, Japan, and Brazil.
Despite the enormity of the task ahead of the Super Falcons, Oshoala is upbeat that they can claim a medal in Paris.
“I have a lot of confidence in this team. We have many young players, and we can make things difficult for our opponents.
“We don’t just think about getting out of the group; I think we can actually walk away with a medal,” she said.
