The Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy has achieved a groundbreaking milestone, becoming the first African artist to surpass 2 billion streams in the United Kingdom.

He made the announcement during a special backstage moment at his fifth-anniversary concert for his acclaimed 2019 album, ‘African Giant,’ which took place at Koko Camden in London on Monday night.

‘African Giant,’ which was a Grammy-nominated album, played a pivotal role in propelling Burna Boy to international stardom.

The Afrobeats superstar received the prestigious plaque in recognition of this incredible achievement, marking a significant moment in his illustrious career.

Just last month, in June, Burna Boy, known for hits like “Kilometre,” celebrated another significant milestone.

During his sold-out show at London Stadium, he was awarded a plaque for reaching one billion streams in the United Kingdom.

This rapid progression from 1 billion to 2 billion streams is a testament to his growing influence and popularity.

Last month, the “Higher” singer, received his plaque for hitting the 1 billion streams in the UK milestone at his sold-out show at London Stadium.

In a viral video of him receiving his 2 billion stream plaque, Burna Boy expressed his gratitude and determination.

He said, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve to fight for your right.”

Burna Boy’s achievements underscore the global rise of Afrobeats and highlight the immense talent emerging from Africa.
