The Wild Life Park in Jos, Plateau State, has announced the recapture of the escaped hyena.

The management reported that they found, tranquillized, captured, and safely returned the escaped hyena to its enclosure.

Mr. Chuwang Pwajok, the General Manager of the Plateau State Tourism Corporation, announced the return without specifying the time or location of the animal’s discovery.

Many residents have been apprehensive since the news of the hyena’s escape went public on Monday.

“The relentless efforts of our team, coupled with the unwavering support of the public, led to this successful capture,” the management said.

The corporation assured the people that enhanced measures were in place to prevent future occurrences and ensure the continued safety of both the animals and the community.

It was not the first time that animals escaped from the park.

According to Persecondnews, a lion escaped in 2015, and another lion escaped from its cage in July 2018.
