Popular actor and skitmaker Debo Adedayo, widely known as Mr. Macaroni, has addressed recent criticisms on social media regarding his alleged avoidance of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The controversy began with a tweet from the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, who claimed that Mr. Macaroni dodges the governor at public functions.
Ajetunmobi had responded to an X user who said the governor should stop looking for Macaroni because of the skit maker’s criticism of some of his policies, saying, “The governor is not looking for him, but any time he sees him at a function, it’s the boy who always runs to dodge.”
This comment sparked a heated response from Mr. Macaroni, who took to Twitter to set the record straight.
“I have never dodged. I will never dodge!!! I don’t want to associate with the Governor because I am not happy with a number of his actions,” Mr. Macaroni tweeted.
“It is the Governor who wants my greeting. The last time we saw him, he asked for my greeting, and I obliged as the Omoluabi that I am.”
The exchange did not end there, as both Mr. Macaroni and Ajetunmobi continued to exchange tweets, each defending their stance.
The back-and-forth quickly caught the attention of many users on X (formerly Twitter), with several calling for both parties to resolve their differences amicably.
Mr. Macaroni has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with certain policies and actions of the Lagos State government, which he believes have not been in the best interest of the citizens.
His criticisms have made headlines before, and this latest interaction has only fueled the ongoing discourse.
As the public weighs in on the issue, many hope for a resolution that will allow both parties to focus on their respective roles in contributing to the betterment of Lagos State.
