Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has shed light on the pervasive issue of a dearth of authentic support within the Nigerian film industry, warning that anyone trying to bring him down will always have God to contend with.

The seasoned actor, renowned for his compelling performances on screen, expressed deep-seated dismay at the prevalent culture of animosity and sabotage that often impedes the growth and success of fellow talents.

Adedimeji lamented the disheartening reality that some individuals harbour resentment towards others’ ascent within the industry, manifesting in concerted efforts to thwart their progress.

“Some people don’t like seeing others rise to the top of their game,” he remarked with palpable frustration.

“I really don’t know why people like to bring you down, soil your name, or try to block you from people who could help you.”

Undeterred by the challenges he faces, Adedimeji reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to his craft, emphasising that acting is his divine calling.

“Acting is my calling, and I’m only doing what God has called me to do,” he asserted resolutely.

Despite the prevailing atmosphere of negativity, Adedimeji remains steadfast in his pursuit of excellence, refusing to succumb to the pressures orchestrated by detractors.
“The hatred is too much, but we are not ready for that conversation yet,” Adedimeji reflected pensively.

“But the fact is that I am not giving up on anyone. I know I can’t be great without all these things people do to bring me down.”
