Fatalities as scores of hoodlums attack police station in Lagos

Residents had to scamper for safety as a result of the hail of gunfire.

Bloody violence erupted at Iyana Ipaja on Monday as more than 100 hoodlums launched an attack on the Ipaja Divisional Police headquarters.

Persecondnews learnt that the attack resulted in a gunfight between the hoodlums and police operatives, leaving some of the hoodlums dead.

Residents had to scamper for safety as a result of the hail of gunfire.

Details of the attack are still sketchy, as the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has yet to react to the incident.

Meanwhile, reinforcement from the state police command has been mobilized to the station under siege.
