Veteran actress Shan George has sent a distress call to Nigerians following the alleged fraudulent withdrawal of a substantial sum from her Zenith Bank account.
The actress claimed that a woman named Cecilia purportedly stole a staggering N3.6 million from her account and transferred it to an Opay account without her authorization.
The distressing incident came to light late Friday evening when George noticed a series of debit alerts flooding her phone, signaling transactions she had not initiated.
Expressing her anguish, the actress took to social media to solicit assistance, highlighting her dire predicament.
In a heartfelt plea, she implored Nigerians to come to her aid, revealing the extent of her financial distress.
“Nigerians, please help me. Someone called Cecilia just cleared all the N3.6 million in my Zenith Bank account into her Opay. I’m now koboless. I have nothing to eat with my children,” George lamented in her plea for help.
The situation has sparked outrage among fans and sympathizers, who have rallied around the actress in solidarity.
Many have expressed shock and disbelief at the audacity of the perpetrator to carry out such a brazen act of financial malfeasance.
At present, the details surrounding the purported fraud remain murky, and investigations have yet to yield definitive answers.
Speaking with Per Second News exclusively on Saturday, George said she has waited endlessly to get a positive response from her bank, but nothing seemed forthcoming.
She noted that the only response she received from Zenith Bank was that the bank would look into it on Monday, when operations resume.
“I am stranded, and I don’t know how to go about this weekend and the bills I need to pay. I am hoping that something is done hurriedly. I hope Nigerians can also help in any way,” she said.
