In a fit of rage, a 20-year-old newlywed, Aisha Aliyu, has allegedly killed her husband, Idris Ahmadu, in the Nasarawa community in the Lapai local government area of Niger State. Aisha, who got married to Ahmadu in December 2023, was said to have stabbed the husband in the chest and slit his throat, Persecondnews reports.

The wife had a squabble on Sunday evening with her husband but was said to have been resolved before bedtime.

Neighbours said they heard the screams of Idris in the middle of the night and ran into the house with his mother, meeting him trying to leave the room while holding his neck before he fell and died.

The daredevil wife was said to have fled from the scene before others came into the house.

Confirming the incident, spokesman for Niger Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said efforts were on to arrest the fleeing suspect.

Abiodun said in a statement obtained by Persecondnews:”Today, 12/02/2024 (Monday), at about 1200 hours, information was received that in the early hours, one Idris Ahmadu of Nasarawa village, via Lapai, was stabbed to death by his wife, Aisha Aliyu, 19/20 years of the same address.

“Before the arrival of the police at the scene, the suspect had fled to an unknown destination.

“Efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect. The case is under investigation, please.”
