Few hours to Kogi gov. poll: LG Chairman slumps, dies

Few hours to the governorship poll in Kogi State, the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council, Muhammed Danasabe Muhammed, has slumped and died.

He collapsed in his home in Lokoja, the state capital, on Thursday night and was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead about 4.30am on Friday.

Family sources said Muhammed had been actively involved in campaign activities for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) towards Saturday’s governorship polls in Kogi.

“He was rushed to Shifa Hospital, Lokoja, after he slumped in the house in the late hours of Thursday.

“Doctors confirmed him clinically dead around 4.30am on Friday,” the source said, adding that he will be buried according to Islamic rites after Juma’at prayer on Friday.
