The Premier League Game Week Three kickstarted with Pochettino earning his first victory as Chelsea manager as it was a thug of war at Old Trafford, Liverpool maintained their 14 games unbeaten run , and City maintained 100 per cent record.

Malo Gusto, the new Chelsea player, was impeccable in the final third, he is the fourth Chelsea player to register two or more assists on his first Premier League home start for Chelsea after Dan Petrescu in 1995, Eden Hazard in 2012 and Hakim Ziyech in 2020.

Thirty one goals were scored in game week three of the Premier League, Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi was among the goal scorers his early goal in the first half against Manchester United set the pace for a thrilling game of football on Saturday against Ten Hag’s United.

Awoniyi’s strike is his seventh consecutive goal in the Premier League, he joins the elite list of Emmanuel Adebayor and Liverpool Mo’Salah to become the only Africans to score in seven consecutive games in a row.

Manchester United fought back from two goals down to pull off a sublime victory against Forest, maintaining their 20 games unbeaten run in the Premier League at the Theater of Dreams.

United are formidable and unbreakable at home in the past 20 games, winning 27, scoring 39 and conceding 10 goals, controversial penalty awarded by referee Stuart Attwell and converted by Bruno Fernandes gave United 3-2 victory over a resilient Forest side.

At the Emirates it wasn’t going according to script for Mikel Arteta until the introduction of Fabio Vieira as Saka converted a penalty after Fabio Vieria was fouled, an Eddie Nketiah benefiting from a Vieira assist to put the Gunners ahead two minutes later.

The Gunners were however left frustrated after 90 minutes dropping two points, with a late goal from Joao Palhinha earned 10- men Fulham a draw against Arsenal.

Only one team have 100 per cent record after three games of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, the reigning champions Manchester City, have scored eight goals, conceded just one and keeping two clean sheets in those three games.

Manchester City defeated Sheffield United 2-1, Haaland and Rodri goals were enough to give City three points.

Manager Pep Guardiola is currently sidelined having undergone a routine back surgery and will return after the international break. In his absence, assistant manager Juanma Lillo will man the touchline, while Guardiola will help remotely.

Liverpool have not lost to Newcastle since December 2015, they extend the unbeaten run to fourteen on Sunday night with Klopp in game management reshaped the game after Van Dijk’s red card.

Klopp’s substitutions were positive, even with ten men, and the impact was there to see in the shape of Nunez and Jota, meanwhile Howe’s substitution of goalscorer Gordon and the elegant, influential Sandro Tonali, made Newcastle lost shape and momentum with their departure.

Newcastle fans were stunned at the the end of the game as the unthinkable unfold right in front of them at St. James’Park, Liverpool goalie Alisson made crucial safe to keep his team in the game, he set a new personal best in the Premier League of eight saves in one match.
