Veteran actress, Joke Silva has opened up for the first time about how hard it has become coping with the reality that her ailing husband, Olu Jacobs, could not be there for her anymore.

Silva is worried and seems unhappy as she shared her frustration at the realization that his once agile and charming husband doesn’t have what it takes any further to be the man she wants him to be.

She said this while speaking in an interview monitored by Per Second News on Sunday evening as she recalled the early days of their marriage when she was blown away by Jacob’s love and smiles.

With Jacob now over 80 years and suffering from dementia and according to his wife, the journey hasn’t been easy as she expressed unhappiness about the situation.

“It hasn’t been easy. There was a point of acceptance for me that everything happening is reality and it is like the person I married, 80 percent of the time is no longer there.

“But the thing is this, when he was there, he was an incredible father to his children and an amazing husband, he was practically my best friend.

“The husband I knew is no longer there for me, but this man that is here is someone I still love,” Persecondnews quotes Silva as saying.
