Veteran Nollywood actress, Margaret Bandele Olayinka, popularly known as Iya Gbonkan, has appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to help her live a good life while she is still alive.

The veteran actress, who now appears in Instagram skits, lamented her living condition, pointing out that with the number of years she has spent in the movie industry, it is sad she doesn’t have a car.

The 64-year-old Nollywood star in a video that is currently making the rounds, lamented not owning a car despite spending over a decade in the Nigerian movie industry.

She said despite her age and experience, she still relies on walking and public transportation to hop from one place to another.

Iya Gbonkan urged Nigerians, particularly her fans, to honour her with a car while she is still alive, instead of waiting to celebrate her or offer grand gestures when she dies.

“I have been acting for decades, yet I don’t have a car. I rely on buses every day. If I were to die now, you would slaughter a cow. Celebrate me now while I am alive. I need a car from my fans,”she said.

She stated further that it will not make any meaning when she dies and people start contributing money for her burial, adding that whoever wants to help her should do so now that she is still alive.
