Clarify How Governorship/State Assembly Polls Results Will Be Transmitted, WHISTLER Tells INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been asked to speak up on how it intends to collate and transmit results of this March 11 Governorship/State Assembly Elections.

THE WHISTLER newspapers, one of Nigeria’s online independent news platforms, in a letter requesting the INEC boss, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu under the Freedom of Information Act, said the it became imperative following the commission’s refusal to deploy electronic transmission of results in the February 25 Presidential/National Assembly elections.

It said the action of the commission was a violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.

In a press statement by Mr Tajudeen Suleiman, the Editor and given to Persecondnews on Tuesday in Abuja, THE WHISTLER said:“ The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to explain how it intends to collate and transmit results of this Saturday’s governorship/state assembly elections.

“THEWHISTLER will make INEC’s response on the request available to the public as soon as it is received.

“We wish INEC and Nigerians a successful governorship/state assembly elections.’’
