The All Progressives Congress (APC) Northeast region rally held in Bauchi ended abruptly following power outage and audio system hitch with thousands of supporters going home disappointed and President Muhammadu Buhari and APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu unable to address the rally.

The embarrassing situation at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, venue of the rally left Buhari and Tinubu with no choice than to depart Bauchi for Lagos for the president’s two-day visit which began on Monday.

Both Buhari and Tinubu who were invited to the podium to address the crowd could not speak as the public address system failed to work.

“People angrily dispersed while Buhari, Tinubu, party Chairman, Sen. Adamu Abdullahi and the Governorship Candidate, Sadique Baba Abubakar, were seen leaving for their waiting convoys.

“It was very embarrassing and disappointing as the organizers failed woefully, causing the president embarrassment,” a party member said.

Persecondnews recalls that Buhari as the National Leader of the party had arrived in Bauchi to lead the presidential and governorship campaign rally as earlier announced by the party.

The presidential aircraft had touched down at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa airport, Bauchi, about 10:20 am received by Bauchi Gov. Bala Mohammed, and the PDP governorship candidate in the March 11 governorship election, Sadique Abubakar.

On hand to receive the President were the party chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and Plateau Gov. Simon Lalong, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, and the Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila.
