Tinubu meets with APC NWC, alerts of opposition moles in the party

In what appears to be a fence-mending visit, members of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have met with the party’s Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to assure him of the support and commitment of the party leadership.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Felix Morka, said in a statement in Abuja on Friday that officers would work with Tinubu to achieve victory in the 2023 polls.

Persecondnews recalls that the National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu shortly before the presidential primary flew a kite by endorsing Senate President Ahmed Lawal as the preferred or “concensus” candidate of the party.

The development had triggered a statement from the Northern Governors’ Forum to counter the position of the Chairman and declared their support for power shift to the South.

Two days after the Special Convention of the APC and the primary election won by the former Lagos State Governor, the national chairman on Friday visited Tinubu in his Abuja residence where he assured him of the party commitment to work for his victory at the 2023 general elections.

Adamu during the visit restated the commitment of the APC NWC to deliver the presidency to the party, and Tinubu in 2023.

Tinubu while responding, charged the party’s NWC to stand strong, united and vigilant ahead of the elections.

“Staying strong, united and vigilant is critical to defeating attempts by opposition moles and spies to infiltrate and undermine cohesion in the party”. Tinubu was quoted as saying.

He also pledged his total commitment to working with the party to achieve victory in the general elections.

He, however, congratulated the NWC, APC members, and Nigerians for the successful conduct of the party’s National Convention that saw his emergence as its flagbearer.

Tinubu expressed confidence in the NWC and its leadership to ensure victory at the polls.
