The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, after emerging from a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, announced that there will be “news break” shortly.

Emefiele, who has yet to resign amid hue and cry about his continued stay in office in spite of his rumoured presidential aspiration, said he was enjoying about the controversy.
“I’m having fun at the scenario. Let them have heart attack. It’s good to have heart attack. I am having a lot of fun,”‘he said in reaction to the ongoing debate about his resignation or continued stay in office.
Persecondnews recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari had on Wednesday at the Federal Executive Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, directed ministers and other appointees eyeing elective positions ahead of 2023 to resign on or before May 16, 2022.
Asked by State House correspondents about his reaction to the directive, Emefiele simply said: “There is no news now, but there will be news. You heard me, I said there is no news but there will be news.”
Persecondnews had also reported that  a “group of farmers” had procured the N100 million presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest  forms of the ruling party — the All Progressives Congress (APC) — for Emefiele which he had distanced himself from.
Rather, Emefiele said he was waiting for God’s nod or divine direction.
He also went to court to challenge INEC and the Attorneys-General of the Federation over plans to disqualify him
