About 28 days after their election, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, and the Deputy National Chairman (North), Sen. Abubakar Kyari, have resigned from the Senate.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan read their resignation letters at plenary on Tuesday.
Persecondnews recalls that the duo of Adamu and Kyari had represented Nasarawa West and Borno North Senatorial districts respectively.
The Senate President also announced Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s invitation to APC Senators (APC caucus) for Iftar on Tuesday evening at his official residence, Aguda House, Abuja.
Iftar, also known as futoor, is the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset.
Osinbajo, a presidential aspirant, had on Sunday hosted APC governors at the State House.
