Few hours after Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) signified interest to join the 2023 presidential race, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress and presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is currently meeting with the Progressive Governors’ Forum in Abuja.

The meeting is being held at the Kebbi State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.

Persecondnews recalls that Osinbajo had on Sunday evening hosted the governors at his Aguda House residence where he disclosed his intention to run for the APC presidential ticket.

As the meeting gets underway only 14 governors are in attendance.

They include Governors Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa (host), Bababjide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, Mai Mala Binu of Yobe, and Simon Lalong of Plateau.

However, two months after Tinubu met with President Muhammadu Buhari to inform him of his intention to contest he has yet to formally declare.

He said he would make a public declaration after a wide consultation across the country.

So far Tinubu has visited some states including Kaduna, Kano, Osun, Oyo and Ogun as part of the “wide consultations”.
