British politician and Member of Parliament, David Amess, assassinated

British Conservative member of parliament, Sir David Amess was stabbed fatally on Friday while holding a constituency meeting.
The 69 year-old, who represented Southend West, was holding the meeting at the Belfairs Methodist Church in Eastwood Road North when he was stabbed multiple times by a knifeman.

Reports said the knifeman, who has been arrested by the police, ran into the building wielding a knife before attacking the politician.

Horrified constituents waiting to see him and staff witnessed the stabbing and quickly called police who rushed to the scene.
