A 14-year-old girl, selling soft drinks in front of her shop, simply identified as Jumoke, has been felled by bullets reportedly fired by a security operative dispersing “Yoruba Nation” agitators at Ojota, on Lagos outskirts, venue of the rally.
The stray bullet ripped open the tummy of the girl, who died immediately. She had displayed drinks at a shop near the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota to ply her business as usual when the bullet hit her.
Her corpse was put in a body bag just as an inflamed crowd gathered to grieve the death.
The “Yoruba Nation” protesters started demanding to see the officer who fired live bullets to disperse the crowd.
