Buhari, Osinbajo take COVID-19 vaccine publicly

A day after Covid-19 vaccination exercise was launched in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) have received the;vaccine.

Buhari and Osinbajo took the jab publicly on Saturday at the new Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The vaccine was administered on the President by his Chief Personal Physician, Dr. Suhayb Rafindadi Sanusi, while the Vice-President’s vaccine was also administered by his personal physician, Dr. Nicholas Audifferen.

It was preceded by e-registration of both leaders and filling out of their vaccination cards, by the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Faisal Shuaib.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, said the jab is painless, adding that a narrow gauge syringe was used with small quantity injected in the upper arm.

He further added that the after effects are mild and little discomfort follows in the area that was injected.

Present at the brief ceremony were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, Ehanire, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
