Coronavirus :  Nigeria’s House of Reps shuts down

Coronavirus has forced the House of Representatives to shut down temporarily.
At its plenary on Tuesday, the lawmakers unanimously agreed to suspend sittings for two weeks to enable them to allow fir screening and detection of symptoms of the deadly coronavirus brought into the country by an ltalian last week.
He is currently undergoing treatment in Lagos.
PerSecondnews recalls that more than 100 have been sujected to “supervised self-isolation” by the government while at least 39 suspects who allegedly had contacts with the infected ltalian are being quarantined in Lagos and Ogun.
The House said the adjournment would enable the Management of the National Assembly and principal officers to provide screening and detection facilities at the complex.
The decision to close the Green Chamber followed a motion from the Minority Leader, Rep. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu (PDP-Delta), and seconded by Rep Josiah Edem(PDP-Akwa Ibom).
