….stoned to death

Some people believed to be hoodlums have stoned to death an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), Ola Oyeshina,at Iganmu-Sifax axis of the Apapa access road.

According to reports, some attackers had swooped on him, hurling stones which knocked him down and became unconscious.
“He was immediately taken to Area “B” Police headquarters where ACP Bayo Sulaimon ordered the detention of two of his attackers who were later arrested.
“A letter of medical referral was issued by the police for medical attention on the victim,” a source said.
Oyeshina was immediately referred to LUTH from Randle Hospital, Surulere.
Mr Kayode Opeifa, Vice-Chairman of the Federal Government Task Team on the Restoration of Order at Apapa, said he was with the victim at the Emergency Section of LUTH before he passed on.
Several  LASTMA officials had been attacked and some killed by hoodlums at Apapa.

Persecondnews recalls that in 2016, a LASTMA commander was brutally killed by hoodlums and this forced the Lagos State Government to withdraw LASTMA officials from Apapa.

However, the Federal Government had in May this year approved the return of LASTMA officials to the area.
