Court grants Maina’s Son N60m bail

The Federal High Court in Abuja, has granted bail to Faisal Maina, the son of ex-pension reform chairman, Abdulrasheed Maina, in the sum of N60 million.

Justice Okon Abang, who gave the ruling on Tuesday, also directed the defendant to produce a surety, who must be a member of the House of Representatives in the like sum.

Faisal is charged with three counts of receiving money known to be from unlawful proceeds under a fictitious name, as well as the alleged illegal possession of firearm, allegedly used on security operatives during the arrest of his father.

The ex-pension reform boss, is facing 12 counts of money laundering, operating fictitious bank accounts and fraud.
