More details have emerged about the killer-cop, who shot dead his wife and himself following an unresolved marital issue.
The policeman of an Inspector rank attached to the Highway Patrol, is identified simply as Edward.
Edward, who was already drunk, shot the wife, an inspector serving with Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), at close range.
The prostrate alcoholic-inspector, had stormed their Warders’ Barracks’ flat late Saturday night which caused a disagreement.
As a result of incessant quarrels and fights, the woman had opted out of the union.
Her threat followed the man’s alleged mistrusts and possessive nature.
As the disagreement ensued, the policeman pulled the trigger and pumped bullets into her body and also shot himself in the head, a source said.
Contacted, Lagos State Police spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the incident, saying investigation is ongoing.
